The activity was organized by Marina Vasilevska Stojanovska with mentorship support from Simona Petrovska Zozinska.
The initiative aimed to raise environmental awareness and promote responsible behavior toward textile waste within the local community. Instead of allowing old clothes and materials to end up in landfills, participants learned:
- how to collect and sort textile waste,
- how to creatively reuse and repurpose materials,
- how to think in terms of sustainable consumption models.
The initiative was not only educational — it was a collaborative and creative process that strengthened teamwork and intergenerational cooperation.
The initiative took place on December 25–26, 2025, in Makedonska Kamenica and nearby villages, through activities including:
- an exhibition of recycled materials
- green workshops
- educational presentations
- a mini fashion show featuring reused clothing
- eco-messages
- the creation of an eco coloring book for children
These activities helped participants understand that fashion and textiles can be a resource rather than waste.
Around 50 students and local residents aged 6 to 65 participated in the initiative. Particularly active were children aged 6–15, who engaged in all workshops and practical activities.
This intergenerational involvement made the initiative a true example of collective learning and action.
The initiative achieved several concrete results:
- increased awareness about textile collection, reuse, and recycling,
- practical knowledge of eco-design and long-term use,
- promotion of circular economy principles and a shift in attitudes toward the fashion industry.
Participants also strengthened their teamwork and leadership skills throughout the process.
